Meyerton RC Raceway Racing

Feedback February 2014 On-Road Race

Feedback :  On- Road race :  1st February 2014.

After listening to the radio and watching the TV’s weather reports on Saturday and hearing the forecasts of heavy rain, it was quite a pleasant surprise to wake up on Sunday and found only a little rain on the track. It wasn’t too difficult to get rid of the water before Henry could sugar the track. Thanks to all the sweepers!

We were happy to meet some new people and also to see some familiar faces from last year. Pleased to have met you, Gert Swart and glad to have you back, Lucas! By the way, Gert is a brilliant racer with 30 years’ experience…and it showed!

Gert Swart

I am also glad to report that the atmosphere at the track was very pleasant again and it seemed that the drivers were very relaxed. The fun is back at Meyerton Raceway!!  Hooray!!

Feedback on January 2014 On-Road Race

Feedback :  On- Road race :  12 January 2014.

The sugar was already dissolved the previous evening and the sugar distributing devise was attached to the lawnmower, so it went quite fast. And I don’t think he was finished with the sugaring, when the first contestant arrived at the gate.

Final leg 2013 RC X Challenge

FEEDBACK:

Last leg of RC X challenge at Meyerton Raceway

Entries:

Although the entries came in with dribs and drabs in the weeks preceding the race, came Sunday morning the 17th November, there were 42 entries that Mark Jooste had to deal with. There were three nitro buggy heats and two nitro truggy heats. With only minimal help from Henry, the squatting list was ready just after 8. Douglas Dyer, who usually takes care of race control, was engaged in cycling that morning and Mark agreed to take over until Douglas was available again a bit later. Dankie Mark, maar ongelukkig vir jou weet ons nou jy kan!

Oh, by the way, we were ready for an electric buggy class, but with only four entries, it just didn’t seem practical to give them a class of their own. We did however give them some opportunities to play around on the track in order to discharge their batteries.
